Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has officially unveiled its newest ship, Norwegian Aqua, the first ship in the innovative Prima Plus class. The christening ceremony took place on April 19, 2025, in the Port of Miami, where celebrity godmother, Mexican singer and actress Danna Paola, traditionally broke a bottle of champagne on the ship’s hull.
What’s new?
- The world’s first at-sea attraction, the Aqua Slidecoaster, a unique combination of a water slide and a roller coaster.
- The Glow Court, an active recreation area with LED lighting for basketball and pickleball.
- The largest open decks, spacious cabins and expanded relaxation areas of any NCL ship.
Number of passengers: up to 3,571 passengers.
Following the christening, Norwegian Aqua will sail to Port Canaveral, Florida, where she will sail 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruises from April to August 2025. The itinerary will include popular tropical destinations:
- Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
- St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Tortola, British Virgin Islands
- NCL's private island, Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas
From August to October 2025, the ship will switch itineraries, sailing from New York to Bermuda on 5- and 7-night cruises.
Beginning October 2025 through April 2026, Norwegian Aqua will return to Miami for a new series of 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruises, with repeat activities on Great Stirrup Cay.
