July 29, 2018 - The first tests of the new Celebrity Edge liner began, which left the Atlantic Shipyards for a previously thought out program.

 

Sea trials are usually a test drive for vessels where key performance and safety indicators are met. During sea trials, the ship tests its limits, from top speed to maneuverability.

 

The first cruise of the new liner is scheduled for November 2018 from Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades) in the Caribbean.

 

The liner will make its first cruises in the Caribbean, but in the summer of 2019 it will come to the Mediterranean Sea and will depart from the ports of Rome and Barcelona.

 

One of the most striking innovations will be the multifunctional Magic Carpet with 90 seats, which descends from the 16th deck to the water level (2nd deck).

 

On the 5th deck, the Magic Carpet will turn into a balcony of one of the specialized restaurants. On Deck 14, the Magic Carpet will become part of the main pool area. On the uppermost deck, the Magic Carpet will be a dedicated restaurant serving a special Dinner on the Edge for 90 guests.
